Hot Damn!

I was looking through a bunch of shit that I had written and I stumbled upon this gem. I'm so fucked up. Enjoy!

Tear

Tear the piece of paper into two pieces
Representative of pain, the page splits forcefully and flutters
Dramatically
To the cold, hard ground

I sometimes wonder if boys in dresses on the last day of school are OK
The razor smiles your smile and the gun whispers your name.

Naked trees stand alone in the shadows of enormous watchtowers,
Safe, Dark, Secure.
I am afraid
Why?
It is because of all the uncertainty of today.

All hail the gushy assassin.

Dead leaves cover the large stone so I clear them off with a deft sweep of my hand.
I sit.
I stare at my reflection in the glittering pool.
My face stares back at me and I barely recognize myself.

It is just a cold hand leading us back to winter

Along the edge of the glittering mirror lie bones
A stark contrast to the shining glass
I guess all endings can’t be happy ones.

I get up from the stone
And dust off my skirt, smoothing the wrinkles and removing leaves I failed to sweep off

Then, without another thought or any hesitation
I begin picking my way carefully back through the nothing from which I came
Secure in the knowledge I had gathered about myself

Harlequin Girls

So, there has been some fantastic drama this weekend, the kind that us in the Lush Squad live for. Now, I'm not going to name names, but I think most of you guys will get it and if you don't ask me later.

The drama pertains to a certain party to which a certain person was not invited and to which another person got bitched at about. I think that's retarded. It isn't anyone's place but the person hosting the party to invite people. Going and being all attention-whorey about it is lame, too. Some people need to stop being so bitchy and take things so personally. Geeze!

On a happier note, I'm almost done the essay that is due today. Go me!

Well, that's all I have to say.

Lyrics

Inspired by Sara, here are some lyrics. These ones had a special meaning to me in the summer. Especially the chorus.

"Marching Bands Of Manhattan" - Death Cab For Cutie

If I could open my arms
And span the length of the isle of Manhattan,
I'd bring it to where you are
Making a lake of the East River and Hudson
If I could open my mouth
Wide enough for a marching band to march out
They would make your name sing
And bend through alleys and bounce off all the buildings.

I wish we could open our eyes
To see in all directions at the same time
Oh what a beautiful view
If you were never aware of what was around you

And it is true what you said
That I live like a hermit in my own head
But when the sun shines again
I'll pull the curtains and blinds to let the light in.

Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole
Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound
But while you debate half empty or half full
It slowly rises, your love is gonna drown

Your love is gonna drown
Your love is gonna...

Novatone

So, upon consulting my friend Ruslan on what to write about, we decided that I should write about him.

I met Ruslan on a windy day in August at the Dauphin International Ukrainian Festival. I think I was drunk. He introduced himself to me and then we started talking about music. He didn't believe me that I listen to metal so I busted out my Pig Destroyer cds and he realized I was the real deal. He gave me a trashy trucker hat that I wore all weekend. The weekend continued drunkenly on, with us talking about politics until 3 in the morning, which weirded everyone out. We polkaed a lot, which was rockin' because Ruslan can keep up with me <3 A memory of him I will never forget is when, because he had no water, he used rum and coke to brush his teeth, but shh! what happens in Dauphin stays in Dauphin. The weekend eneded with me stealing his blanket, which I still have on my bed. Ruslan, however, is coming to visit me soon, which will rule. That is all.

Come and tell me when it's time to...

Staying home Saturday to work on homework while my friends all went out and had fun nights was one of the hardest things to do. Seriously. I've decided that I feel that I must always be involved in and the centre of attention of something. I don't care what it is, as long as I'm in the limelight. It was a strange revelation. I'm really self-centred, but not in an assholish way. Let me know if my theory is correct. Peace.

Oh, the humanity!

So, I am now a member of the illustrious political party known as the New Democratic Party. Yupp, I applied and now all I'm waiting for is my card. I rule. I'm really excited to finally be a member of the party I so agressivly support. it's a great feeling.

In other news, I finished my frickin' Political Studies Essay. It is a thing of beauty and perhaps one of these days I'll post it so all of you can gaze upon it's brilliance. I'm now working on an annotated bibliography for my Women and Addictions class and it's going pretty well. It shouldn't take me too much longer to finsh, which is awesome.

Also, I've decided to jump on the 'trend whore' bandwagon and start posting songs you all MUST download on the bottom of my post, like my wonderful friend, Jordan.

Anywho, I have to go get back to work on my bibloigraphy. Tah all!

Pandora

This post is to commemorate my love for pandora.com

Seriously guys. Best. Site. Ever. You put in a band and it finds all sorts of cool bands like it. You can choose whether you like the song or not and it will either play it more or never play it again. This site totally rawks my sawks.

Also, I love Depeche Mode. Greatest old-skool synth pop band EVER. If you had told me two years ago that I would pretty much be listening exclusively to synth pop, I would ahve told you to fuck off and die. Synth pop is better than any other kind of music.

I don't really know what else to write about, except that I really should be finishing an essay. I'm going to go do that. Leave some love.

xoxo

Defection

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. Politics are nuts. Since when is it ok to completely sell out your party and go to the opposition? Yupp, I'm talking about David Emerson and Belinda Stronach.

Emerson's defection was particularily insidious. He ran in Vancouver-Kingsway under the Liberal banner, then, as soon as he was elected, he joined Satan... I mean the Tories. Jack Layton (who is the coolest politician EVER), called Emerson on this betrayel, saying that Emerson KNEW the only way he would get elected was as Liberal. The NDP candidate was right on his ass in votes, and the Tory straggled way behind them both. Emerson clearly abused the system to better himself and the Fascist party he now affiliates himself with.

Belinda Stronach's defection was slightly less underhanded. She pretty much just realilzed that the Liberal set of beliefs, while still wrong, (haha go NDP!), where better suited for her own set of beliefs.

As a conclusion, I shall set up a list of the main points of this post:

- Conservatives are the Devil.
- Liberals, although not the Devil, still suck.
- The NDP represent all that is good and just.
- Emerson is a huge tool.
-Stronach had her reasons, which I can't fault.
- I am, in fact, the greatest person ever. Even better than Alex.

That is all for now.

Schoolin'

School sucks. I said it. I'm stressed out by the copius amount of essays I have to write and my coping strategy is not doing anything. Dumb, I know. Oh well. I'll just do what I always do: do it at the last minute. Well, I must be off to class so I'll talk to all you bloggerland people later.
